We have clearly stated regarding Davit Gareji that it’s necessary to suspend the processes in order to avoid an incorrect interpretation by anyone while the commission tasked with tasked with border delimitation is discussing specific issues,- Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani said when commenting on the recent developments around Davit Gareji monastery.

 

According to him, it is very important that the commission was renewed.

 

“The Commission's was suspended for quite a long time. It is important that the first meeting was held, that will be followed by a further meeting and it will be convened in Tbilisi. The Commission is tasked to give an immediate respond to the ongoing event there. The issue regarding the ongoing works there was raised within the frameworks of the commission. We have clearly stated regarding Davit Gareji that it’s necessary to suspend the processes in order to avoid an incorrect interpretation by anyone while the commission tasked with tasked with border delimitation is discussing specific issues. There might not create a perception that the status quo is being changed in any form,” FM Zalkaliani said.
