Inal Ardzinba: The government of Abkhazia will not discuss the sovereign status of the state at any stage and at any level

According to Inal Ardzinba, so-called minister of foreign affairs of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia, the signing of the non-use of force agreement by Georgia will be discussed at the Geneva discussions.

"The government of Abkhazia will not discuss the sovereign status of the state at any stage and at any level," Inal Ardzinba said on one of the public-political shows of the First Channel of Russia.

"Abkhazia is a sovereign state, a subject of international law, discussing the status of Abkhazia is not allowed in any field. We discuss completely different issues in different fields. As for the discussions in Geneva, the non-use of force agreement is being discussed there, which, at our request, should be signed by Georgia", said the so-called minister of foreign affairs of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia.

According to him, Georgia refuses to sign this agreement, which "creates additional risks for the security architecture of the South Caucasus".

Inal Ardzinba also noted that the reason for refusing to sign the agreement is that Georgia considers Abkhazia to be a territory occupied by Russia.

"Of course, this is not true, these are Georgia's absurd territorial claims," he added.

According to him, the constant calls of Ukraine, Western countries and the USA to open a second front in the South Caucasus create certain risks.

"The West is interested in creating a ring of fire around Russia, it considers the South Caucasus to be a good option and a good chance. That's why we expect certain provocative and destructive actions from the US side and we will monitor the situation with greater attention," said the head of the so-called foreign ministry of the unrecognized republic of Abkhazia.

According to him, "the US is trying to expand the system of non-governmental organizations in order to act with soft power at the first stage."

"For us, this is a certain signal and we should not allow the risk to turn into a threat, and the threat into a war. We certainly want to live in a peaceful environment, but if we have to take up arms, we will. However, we hope that the situation will be stable and Georgia will act within the framework of international law", Inal Ardzinba said.
