Government report: The number of statements, declarations and decisions in support of Ukraine by Georgia in international organizations exceeds 500, the aid provided by Georgia to Ukraine amounted to approximately 38 million GEL

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale military aggression in Ukraine, Georgia has strongly continued to support Ukraine in political, diplomatic and humanitarian directions, - reads the government's annual report on the implementation of the government program, which covers the period from June 2022 to May 2023.

 

The report also states that Georgia has expressed its solidarity with Ukraine through strong positions within international platforms by co-authoring resolutions, co-sponsoring or joining declarations.

 

"Since the beginning of the war, the number of statements, declarations and decisions in support of Ukraine by Georgia in international organizations has exceeded 500. Georgia provides significant humanitarian and financial assistance to Ukraine, including to more than 26,000 Ukrainians in Georgia through various social and educational programs. In 2022, the aid provided by Georgia amounted to approximately 38 million GEL. Five recreation-rehabilitation projects were implemented in Georgia for Ukrainian children affected by the war. Georgia joined all the joint statements made within the framework of the Crimean Platform, as well as the Bucha Declaration, reads the report.

 

It is also mentioned that the dynamics of relations with Moldova have been activated.

 

"On October 17-18, 2022, the visits of the President of Georgia took place, and on November 24, the visits of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia took place, which greatly contributed to the consolidation of relations and joint goals between the two countries in the light of the challenges in the region," reads the report.
