The Georgian government will present its annual report in written form during today’s Bureau session.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is expected to report to the legislative body on June 30.

The comprehensive report, spanning 164 pages, emphasizes that Georgia is firmly committed to democratic development agenda. It pursues a peaceful and pragmatic policy in the face of global challenges.

The government highlights the ongoing implementation of reforms and strengthening institutions across the four priority areas outlined in the program. These initiatives serve as a roadmap for improving the Georgian population’s life and well-being.

Furthermore, the report acknowledges a significant milestone in the country’s foreign relations last year – in June 2022, the European Council granted Georgia a European perspective, formally paving the way for EU membership.

“Another significant step towards European integration highlights the government’s unwavering policy and moves Georgia-EU relations into the next phase, which catalyzes revving reforms. Currently, the Association Agreement conditions are being met.

The 2021-2027 association agenda was endorsed at the Council meeting, which closes ties with the EU. Amidst heightened geopolitical complexities, relations with NATO have deepened. Allies provided Georgia with tailored support measures at the Madrid summit, which will further strengthen Georgia’s defence capabilities.

Georgia continues to maintain its status as an ally and strategic partner of the United States. The nation enjoys robust support in the US Congress and actively supports US involvement in the Black Sea region,” the document notes.
