Salome Samadashvili: We can describe the results of the government representatives' visits as a complete political failure - I call on the Government to stop sabotaging Georgia's European future

We can describe the results of the government representatives' visits as a complete political failure - the President of the European Council did not consider it necessary to hold a joint press conference, Lelo MP Salome Samadashvili said at the briefing in the Parliament.

Samadashvili noted that it was necessary to create an investigative commission related to the judiciary and to share the views presented by the opposition regarding the 12 points.

"A public opinion survey yesterday confirmed that the anti-Western propaganda of Russia and their ally Georgian Dream did not work and the Georgian people have firmly decided that the future of their country is tied to the European Union. Against this background, I would like to note with special alarm the visits made by the representatives of the Georgian Government to European capitals this week, and the results of these visits can be described in only one word - a complete political failure. No meeting was followed by any important political statement that this country needs - that the country has largely fulfilled all the requirements and therefore they have positive expectations. Instead we heard assessments that the ball is in the court of the Georgian Government, that important requirements related to the rule of law, human rights and other directions remain unfulfilled. Moreover, the President of the European Council did not consider it necessary to hold a joint press conference with the Prime Minister, as it seems that he had nothing positive to say. The only assessment made was the call for Georgia to carry out reforms. Therefore, I call on the Government to stop sabotaging Georgia's European future", said Salome Samadashvili.
