Professionalism, independence of judges and very sound judicial system is also one of the 12 priorities, - Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski told reporters.

According to him, there is still time to go ahead and to make sure that the judicial system reforms, that are very difficult and challenging, are well advanced.

“We are working together with the Georgian side, with the Georgian Ministry of Justice in order to introduce reforms. The work is ongoing in the Parliament as well, on the reform of judicial system. As the European Union, we have been always supporting these reforms. And again, the progress made will be assessed in the form of enlargement report in October this year. And then 27 member states at the highest level, at the level of heads of state and government, will assess the progress that Georgia has been doing, including on the judicial reform in December of this year. So there is still time to go ahead and to make sure that those reforms, that are very difficult and challenging, are well advanced”, said the Ambassador.
