They sent a message to the members of the clan operating in the judicial system that they will protect them in every possible way, For Georgia party MP Beka Liluashvili said.
According to him, yesterday the government finally put an end to the practice of parliamentary supervision and its tools in the country.
"The government, in fact, abolished the Parliament and confirmed that the clan, on the one hand, influences the court and manages it, and on the other hand, is directly subordinate to the government branch and Bidzina Ivanishvili. It is paradoxical to say that you have nothing to hide, that the court is free, and to refuse in this way to create an investigative commission and exercise the supervisory function of the Parliament. On the one hand, to say that this process will affect the independence of judges, what the commission intends to do, and on the other hand, to prevent the judiciary from becoming more accountable and transparent with all state parliamentary resources, including regulations, procedural fraud - these are not compatible with each other. They sent a message to the members of the clan operating in the judicial system that they will protect them in every possible way," Liluashvili said.
For information, due to the lack of a quorum, the vote on the issue of creating an investigative commission regarding the judiciary could not be held. According to the decision of the majority, they did not register for voting, which Irakli Kobakhidze, the leader of the majority, assessed as an "act of solidarity" towards Georgian judges. Only 51 MPs registered for the session.
