The government cannot consider the creation of a fact-finding commission by the National Movement in relation to the court, Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Dream Chairman told journalists.

"We are ready to discuss the creation of a commission in connection with any topic, but in no case can we consider the creation of a commission by the collective National Movement in relation to the court. This is our principled political position", said Kobakhidze.

As for the independence of the judiciary, according to Irakli Kobakhidze, the above is a constitutional principle that must be fully protected.

"These particular people cannot put up with the fact that they have lost control over the judicial system. I mean the collective National Movement. Of course, no one in Georgia will allow the control of the National Movement over the court to be restored, even with a minimal dose. We are responsible for that. We are responsible for protecting the independence of the court, protecting the interests of Georgian citizens, and we will act according to these interests", Kobakhidze said.

According to him, by not registering, the parliamentary majority showed support to the independence of the court and all conscientious Georgian judges.
