The Helsinki Commission echoes the Georgian Dream decision to withdraw the draft laws on agents of foreign influence and evaluates it as a welcome move.

As the Helsinki Commission notes, they will closely monitor the developments.

“Georgia’s ruling party’s announcement that it will withdraw its Russia-style foreign agent bill is a welcome move for defusing the crisis they alone caused. We will monitor closely to see that the bill is in fact formally withdrawn and protesters are speedily released”, reads the statement.
