Georgia's future belongs to patriots, PM says

07.03.23 17:30

“Our future belongs neither to foreign agents nor servants of foreign countries. The future of our country and people belongs to patriots,” Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told Georgian journalists in Berlin.

The PM said the government aimed to maintain peace and stability and bring more development and welfare. In his words, the “degraded and destructive” opposition lustrated itself. It enjoys no trust after demonstrating to whom “they serve.”

“Everybody should put up with the simple condition and truth. The future of our country belongs neither to foreign agents nor servants of foreign countries. The future of our country and our people belongs to patriots. I would remind everyone, including the adverse radical opposition. These people fully lustrated whom they served. It is a tragedy that such people remain in politics. I think our people see everything well; people are wise. While in office, these people destroyed the country and ceded 20 per cent of our territory to the occupant. They allowed Russian troops to enter and build military bases,” the PM stated.

Irakli Garibashvili went on to say that the opponents and the opposition-affiliated TV stations openly called on people to weaponise with the excuse of freedom of expression.

“Against this backdrop, if these destructive people were in power today, we would have had a second front in the country, and the country would have turned into a battlefield. We will allow no one to do that. There will be peace, stability and development in the country,” the PM stated.
