The list of professions for the employment of Georgian citizens in Israel may be expanded

The list of professions for Georgian citizens wishing to work in Israel may be expanded. Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Barkalaia told IPN about this, and as she noted, the agency is already working to diversify the list of professions for the employment of Georgian citizens in Israel.

According to her, at this stage, there is a demand for the profession of geriatric assistant in Israel.

In addition, as Barkalaia stated, Georgia offers preparatory courses in this direction for free.

"In Germany there is a demand for unskilled labor and mainly for seasonal jobs. In Israel specifically, there is a need for people with a geriatric assistant profession. There are minimum standards that a Georgian citizen sent to work in Israel must meet. To meet these minimum standards, training courses were also made, our citizens were prepared and retrained before they went to Israel. The state finances these training courses. Also, we will consider the diversity of professions in Israel because Israel has other demanding professions and there is a need accordingly. In circular migration, it is important to keep the right balance between demand and supply, i.e. not to create a shortage in our country by supplying to the receiving country. Therefore, it is important for us to keep the balance.

In general, the professions in demand, not only in Israel, but also in the majority of EU countries, are transport-logistics, construction and hotel-restaurant professions. We think that the demand in this direction will be and will increase, although the demand in this direction is quite high in our local market as well. We actively cooperate with local employers to, first of all, meet the requirements of the local market and provide job seekers with the qualifications that local businesses need for the employment of citizens here.

There are short-term training - retraining courses. In this direction, we are thinking of investing more resources and closer cooperation directly with employers, to give employers the opportunity to strengthen them so that they can train the seeker in the required qualifications and then employ them," said Barkalaia.

In addition, according to him, the first group of 17 job seekers left for Israel in December, and the second group is planning to leave in the near future.

"You know that the circular migration employment program is already underway with Germany. According to last year's data, more than 1500 citizens of Georgia were employed on seasonal jobs in Germany. The German Employment Agency and the Georgian Employment Agency continue to work to provide even more vacancies from the German side and to give even more Georgian citizens the opportunity to find seasonal employment in Germany. As for other countries, within the framework of the agreement signed with France, citizens of Georgia benefit from legal employment mechanisms, however, unlike Germany, in this case, there is no involvement of state structures, it is a mechanism for issuing work visas by the French side in a simplified manner, which has been in effect for the last four years. France issues a work visa to a job-seeking Georgian citizen following simple procedures.

We set up a similar mechanism with Israel, and in this case, both our and Israel's state employment structures are involved. In December, the first 17 citizens left for Israel. We will continue to work to give more people the opportunity to go to Israel. Here, too, we depend on vacancies provided by Israel, although the first ice melted and the 1st group left in December. In the near future, the second group is also preparing for employment in Israel. Within the second group, 12 people are ready, although this is also a renewable process and the picture changes every day," said Barkalaia.
