Giuli Alasania: I didn't think to address Salome Zurabishvili regarding Mikheil Saakashvili's pardon - people are addressing her and I think that's enough

According to Giuli Alasania, the mother of the third president of Georgia, she is not going to ask President Salome Zurabishvili to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili.

 

"I don't know, what is the need of my request? We have provided all information to Salome Zurabishvili. This person has every right to take this step, and what will my appeal change? I did not think to address Salome Zurabishvili. People address to her, and I think that's enough," said Alasania.

 

As for Girchi deputy Iago Khvichia's initiative that a jury should consider Mikheil Saakashvili's trial, Alasania says that it is completely frivolous.

 

"I consider it completely frivolous, in any case, it is very hostile, it takes a lot of time, and what is the need, is this court not enough anymore?! In order to prolong it? I think this court is already fully fulfilling this," Alasania said.

 

Besides, according to the mother of the former president, Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated Ilia II on his enthronement in a letter sent to the Patriarch yesterday.

 

"As far as I know, in the letter sent to the Patriarch, he congratulated him on his enthronement. Yesterday, on December 25, he congratulated, nothing more," Alasania said.

 

As Alasania says, he is grateful to the people who hold protests in support of Mikheil Saakashvili.
