People cannot be released from prison due to psychological incompatibility with the cell - toxicological examination can be conducted in Georgia, Saakashvili refused it, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze, said in connection with the report published by the Empathy Center.
Sarjveladze states that 10 diagnoses and serious health condition are not enough to transfer Saakashvili abroad.
"We can also look at this issue philosophically, there are sufficient and necessary prerequisites for making a conclusion. As a conclusion, a request is made to be transferred abroad, but are ten diagnoses and serious health condition enough for that? I think this is not enough. It became clear to everyone that it is necessary to substantiate that there is no possibility of treating this diagnosis in Georgia. No one says that this is a diagnosis that is impossible to be treated in Georgia," said Sarjveladze.
As for the need for a toxicological examination, Sardjveladze states that it is possible to conduct a in Georgia.
"Do you remember that Saakashvili refused to conduct a toxicological examination? Why do you think that it is impossible to conduct a toxicological examination in Georgia? Is it written in the report? It is not true. Everyone knows very well that a toxicological examination can be conducted in Georgia," said Sarjveladze.
To the question of why Saakashvili’s condition is getting worse every day if treatment is possible in Georgia, Sarjveladze stated that it is due to his inability to get used to imprisonment, however, prisoners are not released for this reason.
"His own experts say that he has a psychological problem - incompatibility with the cell, but because of this, prisoners are not released from prison in any civilization. People cannot be released from the cell due to psychological incompatibility," Sarjveladze said.
