In Bucharest, the foreign ministers once again reconfirmed their decision made back in 2008 about Georgia’s membership as well as Ukraine’s membership. So, the open door policy remains very much in place, said the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia, Alexander Vinnikov.

According to him, they look forward to seeing Georgia progress further towards eventual membership by implementing a range of necessary reforms.

“The main messages of the NATO foreign ministerial, which took place in Bucharest, were about our continued commitment to support Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against Russia's illegal aggression. So NATO Allies committed once again to continue supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes to ensure that Ukraine prevails in this war of self defense. Allies also discussed other challenges, including the importance of resilience, and including also the challenge posed by China, and they had a separate meeting with Georgia and Moldova, to discuss how NATO can further strengthen its support to these countries, these three important partners as they continue to resist Russian pressure.
