No one has any reason to doubt the judicial system - a few days ago a prisoner was released from the US prison, who had been serving a wrong sentence for 20 years - I was concerned about this and said that such a thing should never happen, majority MP Irakli Zarkua said in response to a question asked about the US Embassy's statement regarding the case of Nika Gvaramia.
As Zarkua pointed out, despite the fact that the USA is a country with great democracy and experience a prisoner was released from the US prison, who had been serving a wrong sentence for 20 years.
"No one has reason to doubt the Georgian judicial system. Our judicial system is arranged in such a way that convicted persons can go through all instances and if they are not successful, they can send their complaints to international courts. If this person (Nika Gvaramia) is acquitted in the international court, I will be the first to congratulate him," said Irakli Zarkua.
