868 persons readmitted to Georgia from foreign countries in three months

In the third quarter of this year, 868 persons were readmitted to Georgia from foreign countries.

 

According to the statistical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the mentioned three months (July, August, September), a total of 873 readmission applications were considered, 868 of which were approved and 5 were rejected.

 

It should be noted that the most - 525 citizens were readmitted to Georgia from Germany, which is followed by France (176), Greece (33), Poland (33), Switzerland (23), Spain (17).

 

The agreement between Georgia and the European Union on the readmission of persons residing without permission came into effect on March 1, 2011. On the basis of the agreement, Georgian citizens living illegally in the territory of the European Union shall be transferred to Georgia. The agreement also provides for the return of citizens of third countries to Georgia based on the conditions established by the agreement. According to the agreement, all transport costs related to readmission and transit to the border of the final destination state shall be reimbursed by the requesting state.
