Mikheil Saakashvili's American lawyer requests that the American doctor be allowed to visit the former President.
As Saakashvili's American lawyer, Massimo Dangelo, told reporters at the Vivamedi clinic, they are also working with the US and Ukrainian Embassies to obtain a permit.
"We work with the US Embassy, the Ukrainian Embassy. We have Dr. James Cobb, who won the Nobel Prize, who is here waiting to see Saakashvili, but we do not yet have approval for him to come in to see President Saakashvili. It is the first time in the history of Georgia that we have a Nobel Peace Prize winner to see a patient and they still don't let him in. We are working to get approval for Dr. Cobb to come in and assess President Saakashvili's condition. We work as hard as we can every day to be able to do this.
We should allow Dr. Cobb to visit President Saakashvili. We have more work to do. As I said, we are here today and we are talking with the US Embassy, as well as the Ukrainian Embassy to speed up this process," the lawyer noted.
