The person who attempted to hit me is the head of the Boxing Federation, the Minister of Culture and Sports Tea Tsulukiani stated.
According to her, despite this fact, Georgian boxing will be supported by the Ministry, however bypassing the federation.
"The information that there was any opposition towards me from representatives of the Boxing Federation or boxers, is a lie. We have boxers, whatever age you want, who are worthy not only because of their great achievements, but their behavior too, since this issue has received such a response, I will use the opportunity and tell you that the person who attempted to hit me is the head of the Boxing Federation, but it does not mean that this action will make me respond to the boxers or boxing. They showed such great results this year that they deserve only thanks, and just a few days ago we sponsored our young boxers, bypassing the federation. We will not let go of Georgian boxing because they were unlucky in the leadership, but it is so, it is a fact. As they tell me, he has the feeling that he wants to capture this federation, but I cannot destroy Georgian boxing for this person, who, after this fact, is no one, because I am the Minister of Sports, I am responsible for the promotion of Georgian boxing and of course, they will have this support," Tea Tsulukiani told Imedi TV.
For information, the President of the National Boxing Federation of Georgia is Davit Tsiklauri.
