With this step, Belarus has come very close to the red line of relations with Georgia, and it is important not to cross this red line, said the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

According to him, the government of Georgia is waiting for an explanation from the Ambassador of Belarus.

"Of course, it is absolutely unacceptable when the leader of another country enters the territory of Georgia without agreement with the Georgian authorities. That is why a very sharp, diplomatic step was taken - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Belarusian Ambassador, demanded an explanation from him, and now the Ministry is waiting for this explanation. This move, this entry, in itself, violates both international law and the law on occupied territories. In addition, it contradicts the relationship between Georgia and Belarus. Therefore, we hope that Belarus will return to the principles recognized by international law, and within the framework of this definition, we will see that no steps will be taken, especially regarding the policy of non-recognition. Clarifications have been requested and these clarifications must be provided.

With this step, Belarus has come very close to the red line of relations with Georgia, and it is important not to cross this red line," Papuashvili said.

When asked whether the recalling of the Georgian ambassador to Belarus is being considered in order to prevent Belarus from recognizing the occupied territories of Georgia, Papuashvili says that "the Georgian government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has taken an adequate diplomatic step at this stage."

"A vigilant, diplomatic approach in consultation with strategic partners is necessary so that Belarus does not take a step that would contradict the principles of international law and that would be a step that would disrespect the territorial integrity of our country. The Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has taken an adequate diplomatic step for this stage, and we hope that this step will bear fruit," Shalva Papuashvili said on Rustavi 2.
