There is only one goal behind the demand for visas, this goal is to drag Georgia into a military conflict. The xenophobic campaign serves solely this purpose, Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream, stated at a briefing, responding to the initiative of Lelo to establish a visa regime for Russian citizens.
According to Kobakhidze, any provocation is expected from those who support the introduction of the visa regime. The leader of the Georgian Dream calls on the law-enforcement bodies to be alert and careful so that to prevent any incidents.
"There is only one goal behind the request to introduce visas, this goal is to drag Georgia into a military conflict. The xenophobic campaign serves solely this purpose. In a direct way they failed to achieve this, so now they are trying to indirectly incite aggression in the society and ultimately lead the country to war. Naturally, we will not allow this”, he said.
He also responded to the report recently published by Transparency International - Georgia, according to which, Georgia's economy has become even more dependent on Russia's economy.
“None of the reports of Transparency International - Georgia has any value. The head of this organization was directly involved in the war rhetoric and campaign. Their goals are clear and that is why they are involved in the xenophobic campaign. Their goal is the only one - to somehow contribute to inflaming the war situation, which we will not allow. We will have a very strict response to such actions", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
