When I hear from certain forces representing the Government that America is trying to drag Georgia into the war, it really sounds like Russian propaganda - I would say one thing to all the leaders in Georgia: fight against disinformation, American congressman Adam Kinzinger said in an interview with the Georgian Service of Voice of America.

According to him, the US is not trying to involve Georgia in any type of war, it wants Georgia to be an independent and sovereign country.

“I think it is important to give weapons to Georgia not for attacking Russia, but in order to tell them clearly: you have illegally occupied 1/3 of my country and you cannot occupy more, we will defend ourselves. I think we should go back to understanding that power prevents war and weakness only opens the door to it”, said the Congressman.

He also spoke about the statements made by the government officials about the American Ambassador Kelly Degnan and noted that this does not show the desire of moving towards the West.

"I don't know all the details of what's going on in Georgia, but I just want to tell you that Ambassador Degnan is doing a great job on behalf of the United States”, he said, adding that attacking a person like her with disinformation sends a very bad message to the United States - that Georgia might not want to be friends with the US.
