Now it is important that words turn into action and we receive a clearer roadmap and plan for NATO membership, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili told reporters in response to the upcoming NATO summit in Madrid.

According to Papuashvili, Georgia is, in fact, fully compatible with NATO standards. According to him, therefore, the Government expects that the Madrid Summit will send clearer messages to Georgia.

"More than 80% of our armed forces have participated in various forms of NATO missions and training and are compatible in this regard. Georgia was one of the largest participants in international missions per capita, including in Afghanistan. In this regard, Georgia argues that it is taking on the same responsibilities as NATO member states even though it is not a member of NATO. Therefore, we have expectations for the Madrid Summit that there will be clearer messages to Georgia. Now it is important that words turn into action and we receive a clearer roadmap and plan for NATO membership," Papuashvili said.
