We will consult with Brussels on the issue of de-oligarchization to get more specifics and explanations - this condition has been set for all three countries and let us acknowledge that this is not a challenge in our country, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said at the press conference at the governmental administration.
As the Prime Minister noted, all the conditions laid down in the decision of the European Council will be fulfilled by the Government.
"When I say that we will fulfill all the promises, I mean it, this is not an empty promise and I declare this with full responsibility. On the issue of de-oligarchization we will have consultations with Brussels to get more specifics and explanations of what the expectations are, how we should adopt this law. We were told that Ukraine adopted a similar law, but it was also noted that it is not perfect. We will consider this topic. This condition has been set for all three countries and let us acknowledge that this is not a challenge in our country.
Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili is the greatest philanthropist the country has ever had, a philanthropist who has been helping his homeland for more than 20 years. He dedicated the income earned in foreign countries, his wealth to the country. You are witnessing hundreds of large-scale projects. He started charity during Shevardnadze's time, as well as during Saakashvili's time. The main charity he has done was to remove the anti-European power from the country and to end the dictatorial power in the country," the Prime Minister said.
Asked about Bidzina Ivanishvili’s destructive role in politics according to the European Parliament resolution, Gharibashvili said that if someone misjudges Ivanishvili, he needs to provide reasoned facts, not general, political assessments.
According to him, Ivanishvili is not an oligarch.
"This is an assessment of political destructive forces without arguments”, he said.
