Prosecutor's Office charges one person with persecution of Davit Berdzenishvili

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged one person with persecution of Davit Berdzenishvili in connection with his political activities. The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia spreads information about it.

 

According to them, the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on June 6, 2022, on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, the accused prosecuted Davit Berdzenishvili because of his political activities.

 

"The law enforcers arrested the accused on the same day. He was charged under Article 156, Part 2, Subparagraph A of the Criminal Code of Georgia (persecution with violence of a person for his / her political activities).

 

The Prosecutor's Office will apply to the court for the use of detention as a measure of restraint for the accused within the time limit established by law.

 

The investigation into the criminal case is underway at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to obtain additional evidence," the statement reads.
