According to Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party, certain politicians from the radical opposition are campaigning against Georgia's candidacy in the European Union.

 

As he told reporters at a briefing at the party office, exactly the same happened when the issue of visa liberalization was being resolved.

 

"We have specific information that certain politicians from the radical opposition are going to the corridors, offices and campaigning against Georgia's candidacy in the European Union. This is a given fact, which is not a new event. We remember exactly the same thing about visa liberalization, back then it was not successful. Hopefully, their campaign will not be successful in this case either," Kobakhidze said.

 

In addition, he evaluated the statement of Lelo, which summons the Prime Minister to the Parliament on May 27. According to Irakli Kobakhidze, according to the rules of procedures of the Parliament of Georgia, they can ask a question and get an answer.

 

"The interpellation procedure will be conducted in accordance with the rules of procedures, on May 27, as it is provided by the current legislation. They can ask a question and get an answer. Our position is clear in this regard," Kobakhidze said.
