The bodies of Davit Menabdishvili and Nika Shanava, Georgian volunteer fighters killed in Ukraine, transferred to Georgia

The bodies of Davit Menabdishvili and Nika Shanava, Georgian volunteer fighters killed in Ukraine, were transferred to Georgia.

 

Family members, relatives and citizens gathered at Tbilisi International Airport to pay their respects. The deceased Georgians were taken out of the airport against the background of the Georgian and Ukrainian anthems.

 

Davit Menabdishvili was transferred to his hometown in Rustavi. He was greeted by relatives and fellow citizens with flags and flowers at the entrance to Rustavi. Citizens honored his memory by kneeling in silence.

 

Davit Menabdishvili was rested in the Sioni Church in Rustavi, where a civil funeral will be held. According to the available information, the serviceman from Rustavi will be buried tomorrow.

 

Georgian fighters were killed on April 9 in a clash near the town of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine.
