1,099,474 international travelers visited Georgia in July 2019. The increase compared with the same period of the last year is + 5.8 %.
Head of Tourism National Administration of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili presented the corresponding statistics provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the data, the number of tourist visits reached 570 482, which is 5 505 more more than in July 2018 (growth + 1%).
Most of the international travelers came from Azerbaijan (+ 13.1%), Russia (-6.4%), Turkey (+ 9.6%) and Armenia (+ 3.2%).
However, the positive trend is maintained with regard to the EU countries, where the growth of international visits to Georgia is as follows: Germany – growth +33.7 percent, France – growth +29.6 percent, Lithuania – growth +20 percent, Latvia – growth +17.4 percent, Poland growth +15.7 percent and others.
In the reporting period, the following countries also saw a significant increase: Kuwait – growth +58.1 percent, China – +55.6 percent, Uzbekistan – +50.9 percent, Saudi Arabia – +42.1 percent, Korea – +38.9 percent, Kazakhstan – +28.5 percent and others.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs provided the National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with this information.
