Giorgi Menabde, accused of premeditated murder of Davit Saralidze, sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison

Giorgi Menabde, who stands accused of premeditated murder of Davit Saralidze, was found guilty by the court. According to Judge Valerian Bugianishvili, Menabde was sentenced to 14 years in prison, however, according to the Juvenile Justice Code, it was reduced by a quarter, to 10 years and 6 months.

 

According to Giorgi Menabdi's lawyer Davit Dadiani, they will definitely appeal this decision.

 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested Giorgi Menabde on April 15 for the murder of Davit Saralidze. According to the agency, the investigation established that the detained Giorgi Menabde, together with Giorgi Janashia and Mikheil Kalandia, injured minor Davit Saralidze, with the intention of killing him.

 

Giorgi Janashia, Guga Barbakadze and Mikheil Kalandia were convicted of the murder that took place on Khorava Street on December 1, 2017 and claimed the lives of two teenagers, Davit Saralidze and Levan Dadunashvili. It should be noted that Giorgi Janashia, convicted of the premeditated group murder of Davit Saralidze, has already left the penitentiary institution. He was released by the parole commission. He had been sentenced to 4 years in prison under a plea bargain.

 

As for Mikheil Kalandia, he has been sentenced by all three instances to 11 years and 3 months in prison.
