Orthodox world celebrates Christmas today

07.01.22 11:50

The Orthodox world celebrates the glorious feast of Christmas on January 7. In connection with this, a solemn service was held in the Orthodox temples.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II performed a Christmas service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Before the service, the Patriarch’s epistle was read in the church.

Due to the pandemic, the Christmas marching Alilo will be held differently again. The procession of cars will start on January 7, at 14:00, from the First Republic Square.

As InterpressNews was informed by the Patriarchate, the procession will end at the Trinity Cathedral at 16:00 with a Christmas thanksgiving prayer.
