Amiran Gamkrelidze: Out of 144 cases of "Omicron", all have mild symptoms - only 4 were hospitalized and this was not caused by the severe symptoms of Covid, but by other concomitant diseases

According to the director of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, out of 144 confirmed cases of Omicron, it became necessary to hospitalize 4 infected people.

 

As Amiran Gamkrelidze explained to Interpressnews, all four of them have a concomitant disease and the hospitalization was not caused by Covid symptoms.

 

"All cases are mild, 12 of them are children under 18 and teenagers. Only 4 out of 144 were hospitalized, due to concomitant diseases, their hospitalization was not caused by the severe symptoms Covid. The average age in 144 people is somewhere between 37-38 years. 105 out of 144 are Georgian citizens, 39 are foreigners. 70% of them are fully vaccinated", said Amiran Gamkrelidze.

 

According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the circulation of "Omicron" in the country is gradually increasing. As Gamkrelidze notes the "Omicron" circulation is about three times more than it is confirmed.
