Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava met with locals in Shatili to speak about the programme and urge them to get involved in the programme.

"Tourism potential in the mountainous regions is high and I am sure locals will show interest in the programme,” Turnava said.

She said that with the help of the government locals will be able to build family hotels, renovate existing ones or start up other businesses to employ locals and receive an income.
