Isn't it better to support me and boldly say that this whole process is a farce and the historical shame of the whole country, - former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at his trial.

According to Saakashvili, in case of the change of judicial system, he is ready to prove his innocence.

"Isn't it better to demand my release from the hostage first? As soon as there is a fair trial in this country, where these actors will not be and there will be real judges, real prosecutors, I give you an honest word, I am ready to prove it. I'm running nowhere. I arrived and headed straight into the wolf's throat. I am ready to appear before that court and let it judge me when it will be, even in 1 year, 2 years or three. I'm not asking you to protect me, Mikheil Saakashvili, but condemn the torture of any person. Condemn an unfair trial against any person. Condemn the inhuman treatment not of the president, but of any ordinary Georgian", - Saakashvili said.

According to him, the only function of today's ugly system is to not let him get out of prison alive.
