Lithuanian solar power plants in Georgia Prosecutor’s Office

01.12.21 18:00

Lithuanian solar energy company Okata is starting solar power plant installation works in Georgia. The solar power plant will generate electricity in Georgia’s Prosecutor’s Office. The capacity of the power plant will be just over 100 kilowatts.

The projects are being funded by the Climate Change Programme, which is administered by the Environmental Projects Management Agency (EPMA).

Nearly a third of the total funding for both projects – approximately EUR 43,000 – will be provided by Okata (the company installing the plants) and its partners Solar Energy Georgia

The electricity generated at the Georgia Prosecutor’s Office will be used to meet the daily electricity needs of the building. Prosecutor’s grid consumption is currently at 956,000 kWh per year. “The solar power plants installed on the roof are planned to produce up to 15 percent of the required amount of electricity,” says Solar Energy Georgia Director Levan Kobakhidze.

Installation of the solar power plant is scheduled to be completed till January.

The installation of these solar power plants is not the first result of Okata cooperation with Georgia. Okata has contributed to few projects in this country involving the installation of solar power plants for different communities.
