The ombudsman of Ukraine, Lyudmila Denisova, states that the Georgian justice system has violated Article 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms against Mikheil Saakashvili, which guarantees a fair and public hearing.

"Such actions by the Georgian judiciary constitute a violation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which guarantees the right to a fair and public hearing (Article 6).

The ombudsman of Ukraine called on foreign states and international human rights organizations to respond to this violation and demand the right to attend the trial of Mikheil Saakashvili, which will be held on November 29", - the statement said.

According to the ombudsman, the lawyers demanded the avoidance of the judges, which decided to conduct the case without Saakashvili.
