Total of 117 medical workers die of coronavirus in Georgia

According to the report issued by the National Center for Disease Control, as of October 1, 2021, health workers accounted for 6.4% of those infected with coronavirus.

 

According to the report, the share of infected health workers is 39.9% of the total number of total health personnel. 82% of those infected were women and 18% were men. The highest rate of infection was observed in Tbilisi, Imereti and Adjara regions.

 

As for lethality, the report says that the total number of coronavirus-related deaths during the pandemic was 117, which is 0.3% of the total number of confirmed cases in the medical staff. 40.2% were male, 59.8% female. The age group of 30 to 70 years accounted for 68.4% of the deaths.
