The State Security Service has issued another statement regarding the investigation into the conspiracy to overthrow the government and called on the "destructive forces" to refrain from committing criminal acts and remain within the legal framework.

According to the Security Service, they will take all legal measures provided by law to protect the constitutional order of Georgia.

"The public is aware that the State Security Service is investigating a conspiracy to overthrow the state government under the first part of Article 315 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Recently, public statements containing signs of crime have been spread on various social networks and in the media, deliberately or unknowingly calling on citizens to overthrow the government, including through revolution and violent means.

Calling for a violent change of the constitutional order of Georgia or the overthrow of state power, and/or the dissemination of material containing such a call, is a criminal offense under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and is punishable by up to 3 years in prison.

The State Security Service, within its competence, will take all legal measures provided by law to protect the constitutional order of Georgia and to prevent the unconstitutional, violent change of state power.

We once again call on the destructive forces to refrain from committing criminal acts and to remain within the legal framework," the State Security Service says in its statement.
