According to Koba Nakopia, the executive secretary of the United National Movement, the administration of the 12th penitentiary in Rustavi repaired the part of the building where Mikheil Saakashvili is placed and closed prison windows so that supporters can no longer see Saakashvili from outside.
At the same time, as Nakopia told reporters, all persons, except lawyers, have been barred from taking Saakashvili's letters out of prison. According to Koba Nakopia, the Georgian Dream government is afraid of letters written by Saakashvili, so if they allow him to be taken to a civilian hospital, they will "panic."
"Everyone knows that Mikheil Saakashvili is banned from making calls and they are afraid of his voice. Now, all the windows have been painted and locked, so that none of his supporters can see him from the outside. They repaired the building in one day.
His visitors are no longer allowed to take a letter out of prison. They warned us about it. The only way to get letters from him will be by mail, or through lawyers. A member of parliament, a doctor or a family member, who visit him, will not be able to take a letter out of prison. It is clear that they are afraid of his voice and the trial has been postponed so that people cannot see him. Imagine their panic if he is taken to a civil hospital," said Koba Nakopia.
