Amiran Gamkrelidze: We admit that the vaccination communication campaign should have been stronger and more aggressive, but Georgians have a good saying - "Better late than never"

We admit that the communication campaign should have been stronger and more aggressive, but Georgians have a good saying - "Better late than never," said Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Disease Control.

As he told reporters after the end of the Coordination Council, he cannot say that the vaccination campaign is not effective, as it is effective in terms of making people learn more about the vaccine.

"In the 49 big villages where we have been, a lot of people are preparing to be vaccinated and this will spread to other settlements in the future. When I am asked what we have not done, I admit that the communication campaign should have been stronger and more aggressive, but Georgians have a good saying - "Better late than never”,” Gamkrelidze said.
