Deputy Health Minister: The state is responsible for the information campaign and not for forced vaccination

20.10.21 12:20

"Mandatory is not a legitimate and ethically justified term for any medical intervention," Tamar Gabunia, Georgia's Deputy Health Minister, said after the end of the Coordination Council meeting.

According to her, the state is responsible for the information campaign and not for forced vaccination.

"In this case, the only way may be to introduce regulations regarding epidemiological safety, when a person has the opportunity to choose to be vaccinated or to take a PCR test and present the test result. This is the right balance and ethical approach we can take.

The state has an obligation to ensure that the vaccination process is available to everyone free of charge. The state is also responsible for the information campaign and not for forced vaccination, the probability of this does not exist even theoretically,” Tamar Gabunia said.
