State budget 2022 to be reduced by more than 1 billion GEL

The state budget 2022 has been reduced by more than 1 billion GEL compared to the current year budget. More precisely, the budget has been reduced by 1 055 470 800 GEL.

 

According to the draft state budget 2022, the volume of state budget allocations is 18 443 276 00 GEL.

 

According to the explanatory note of the draft budget, this reduction is caused by 2 main factors, namely, the costs related to the pandemic will be reduced in 2022 significantly (by 850.0 million GEL), and there will be no more allocations for the repayment of Eurobonds (1 713.2 million GEL);

 

"The spending part of the 2022 state budget reflects additional expenditures in areas such as the indexation of the state pension and the increase of teachers' salaries in accordance with the career scheme. The draft budget for 2022 envisages funding for healthcare related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the amount of GEL 500.0 million,” reads the note.

 

The budget plan for 2021 is 19 498 746 800 GEL.
